This contemporary Afghani carpet is fashioned in the image of an old Persian Herez. The pattern is bold and, interestingly, features elements reminiscent of Caucasian rug designs. The rug has a low pile which contributes to its antique look and helps to make the pattern clear. Like other well made reproductions, the weave of the original rug has been replicated making it texturally compatable with authentic antiques.
